Dear Marliners,
As you are reading this you obviously have access to the internet and will almost certainly be familiar with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that is to come into effect on 25th May 2018. GDPR aims primarily to give control to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment. The law conveys certain rights to citizens with respect to their personal data.
We have set up a new page to explain our policies.
I have updated the CLUB MEMBERSHIP page to consolidate access to club information. This includes our constitution, code of conduct and new data, privacy and cookie policies which encompasses GDPR. Members can also view and modify their personal information from this page. What’s more this page enables non-members to join us. The CLUB MEMBERSHIP page can be accessed from the main website.
The MOC does not share personal information other than in conjunction with running the club. We only collect such information that is necessary or relevant for members to access and use our services. The MOC does not sell any data. The MOC does collect some information in our log files such as page views and ip addresses.
The club takes member security very seriously. Respect for personal information and security remains a top priority for us.
I believe the changes to the club membership page will make it easier to find information relating to the club. The new page documents our existing policies and the clubs ethos with respect to individual members.
