    Tracking

At last I took my roadster to have the tracking done. I had tried to do it with bits of wood and a tape measure but it has always been a bit frisky!
I actually had a bit of toe out, about 10mm the machine said . Now with 1.2m toe in the difference is magic. Money well spent it doesn't leap all over the place when it hits a pot hole.

Yup it was starting to feather. It was finding the time to take it in. This month has been hectic.

10mm toe out, I would call excessive.
Are the gaps between the tyres and the steering arm ball joints now equal? Twisted uprights make setting up difficult.

I had it done professionally. At first after redoing the top swinging arm bearings and rack bush I just wanted it near enough for now. It does handle much better for some reason! Everything else seems OK.

            Result then.
If you read through old posts, it’s remarkable how many people having the tracking set professionally, though you can do it as an amateur, but the modern day professionals are not so familiar with a torsion bar Marina/Mini front suspension hybrid setup being more used to the modern style fully adjustable double wishbone standard.

The moral of the story, it to check everything twice, and don’t make assumptions.
