Hi I'm new to Sportster & have just bought one with a hood. There is a mushroom shaped fitting on the top of the screen that lines up with the split hood frame but I can't see any way to secure the hood to the screen as at the moment it isn't secured down. Am I missing a piece some where or doing something wrong?

Congratulations on getting a Sportster, I'm sure you are going to enjoy it!
I don't think you are missing any parts.
If you remove the pins at each end of the hood cant rail and lift each end up, you can slot the 'middle' ends under then the mushroom shaped peg. (You might need to unpop the hood at the back to do it). Then just fold the ends down and re-insert the pins. (It's a lot easier to do than describe in words!!)

thanks Peter will try that. hood has been folded for a long time so need some tlc but it was just in case it rained as I was bring the car home as its a few days journeyComment
