Fuel filler pipe for mk 2 1.3 roadster

Hi all

I already have an escot van/estate tank fitted and it is in use.

I just wandered what other people have fitted and if you could post some pictures.

In the manual it says use the Escort filler neck but these are as rare as hens teeth.

Any help pictures etc would be much appreciated.

Hi Adrian, I also have the Escort van/estate fuel tank.
The filler was already on the car, I plan to move it up a bit higher as looking where it will connect to the tank is quite tight.

Try to get as straight a run as you can Martin otherwise it's a slow fill with blow back.
You can always unsolder the filler on the tank and turn it through 180° to get a better run.

When I bought my Roadster back in 2010 the filler pipe was low down and when I tried to put petrol in, it leaked out as the parts were joined together with what looked like "Saniseal", used in plumbing. I had the outlet moved on the tank to enable me to put the filler high up on the rear tub with a straight silicone fuel pipe connecting the two. This meant a small fibreglass repair, but well worth doing. David.

My breather runs into the neck of the filler but my cap is one of those that let air in but not out untill the pressure is about 2/3 psi.

It was the stock filler but I silver soldered a pipe into it. I'll try and dig out a pic. but don't hold your breath.
