I spoke to my ex ford man who knows.Its a common problem with this engine. He said throw it away and get a proper engine.Try the following:-
1 Ensure throttle body is cleaner than clean.
2 " Shut off valve is clean
3 Have the management unit reset.
4 The throttle sensor may be playing up.
5 A bodge that works is to drill a 1 or 1.5 mm hole in the throttle butterfly.
