    Shock absorbers

Car to be back on the road this summer after protracted rebuild. The shocks look very tatty, though it passed MoT OK last three years ago. What should I get for normal road use?

If its the rears your talking about and its a Marina based car, then the standard Marina shocks are OK. I got some for my car last Nov. from Halfords. Part no. Monroe R3258 ?45. 88 the pair.

Thanks Franklin - I need front as well, so perhaps standard Marina for those as well.

As recommended in the build manual front shocks should be Triumph Herald rears, these have integral bumpstops. They recommend Spax adjustables, but whichever are used they should have a minimum closed length of 250mm measured from the centres of the eyes.
        Hope this helps.

I have found this old entry and have been looking for the Monroe R3258's as recommended - unfortunately without success. Has anyone purchased any more recently and is able to give me a make / part number please?
