    Electric power...

Has anyone here seriously considered dumping their gas guzzler and going electric in any form of Marlin?

Seems pricey up front but really cheap to run, mind you with the low mileage I do that's probably not a factor.

There was a grey Quantum 2+2 with electric power at Stoneleigh this time...with a reported range of only about 50 miles...and there's a youtube video of its first drive that I've seen. I don't know of any Marlin based electric conversion...but the 5EXi would seem to be an excellent choice as base vehicle.

I know of one member who looked quite seriously into electrifying his Sportster but idea was shelved on setup cost.

I read up about it a few weeks ago and as you said the setup costs are really expensive.
If anyone takes up the challenge I will be following with great interest.

I think setup costs would be ridiculously prohibitive unless you are already in the industry,
Its a nice idea, but very much a one off enterprise.
Anything with less than 100 mile endurance would be insufficient in my mind.
More concerned with battery condition and survival, many kit cars are not daily drivers, would battery life be compromised if not discharge cycled for a month or so?

          Watching with interest
