  • Single SU Needle Choice

I'm running a single 1.75" SU with a BAS needle (1.8 engine). With a K&N it runs OK but seems a little flat in the mid-range, especially now I've fitted electronic ignition. I'm after any ideas for an alternative needle...needle charts are no substitute for on-the-road experience..!

    Thanks

I've just gone through the same issue and ended up putting my Roadster on a Dyno. Expensive I'll admit but I got a huge increase in performance all round and I'm confident that the engine is giving of its best. The risk of messing with needles is that it might seem great at certain rev ranges but be running exceptionally weak in others - you''ll be aware of the potential comsequences. I'd recommend the Dyno approach to anyone but, as I said, it ain't cheap.

    Cheers
