A nice day out, 25 minutes down the A5 for me, and 800+ cars or all shapes, sizes and varieties.
The organisers estimated 15k+ people, and it was a very busy event. Arrived at exactly at the same time as the only other Marlin, a Berllie, and both cars attracted their fair share of interest. Its surprising how many people used to 'own one of those' and the affection still held for the car.
One of the high lights for me was the Moggie Traveller, black and in beautiful condition but with a twin cam ford fitted along with all of the essentials such as brake upgrades, a beautiful bit of work. Another was the £3 breakfast from the 'Stottie' shop.
The weather was good to us and the rain stayed away, indeed shelter from the sun was occasionally sought.
It would great for interest in the marque if we could get a number of Marlins at some of these car gatherings in the future, I keep being told 'you dont see many about'!
Maybe 2020 will be the year of the Marlin profile, a Phoenix year!
