Whatever happened to J C sportscars?

I purchased part of a kit for His EKO Lightning children car made of Compost bins plus special parts he supplied.
His website is now down. Does anyone know how to contact him?? Im looking for the templates.

Clearly John Cowperthwaite (JC Sportscars) is very much alive.

Whist providing most of the parts, a significant part of the construction costs will be the the electric drill and battery, not cheap because the average kid will demand spare, fully charged, batteries too.

Not wanting to put a damper on things, but these will fall under the same legislation as many personal electric vehicles like segways and electric scooters, so cannot legally be used on the highway or pavements without registration. Helmets and insurance, so you need a pretty large garden/driveway or access to suitable private land, with the landowner express permission, for unfettered enjoyment.

The legalese pretty much goes like this, people think that because some of these vehicles are small they are toys and therefore the law doesn't apply but the legislation does not exempt 'toys' and the physical size of the vehicle is no great indicator of whether it's a child's toy.

If such vehicles are used on the road/pavement by young people, not only may the rider be committing a number of offences but their parents may also face prosecution for aiding and abetting or permitting the offences.

But the law rarely stops people from doing what the want and having fun.

Using Windoze-10 (more-or-less standard), running Firefox as browser and checking the Forum 'Default Style' display option on a Lap-Top, Steve's text appears quite normal to me?

same here, steve, your post starts with clearly in white letters then the rest in darkish grey on a black background!!

If you scroll to the very bottom left of this page, there is a small box where you can change the colour of the page which may help.

Very interesting, I've never changed the style from 'Marlin Style' since I joined the forum......... always read the posts and ignored the periphery..... that'll teach me. Whole new outlook on life now.

I have made no changes to my settings, still using default style.

Presumably this post is bug free! It looks fine to me. Using a different device my John Cowperthwaite post looks perfectly OK, no odd colour scheme issues!
