Hi what sealant/epoxy is used to seal the windscreen in place?

Sikaflex 221 is just one of the products,try your local motor factor or one of the windscreen replacement companies

you will need two tubes of it. Car Builder Solutions do a polyurathane sealant which is cheaper and slightly easier to use than the proper stuff which I found to stiff to use in a manual gun. The trade have powered guns and ovens to warm the tubes up. You will also need a tin of primer to coat the edges of the winscreen so that the sealant sticks.

Another tip is to cut some nylon fuel pipe into 2 inch bits and then split along one side. Then fit over edge of glass as spacers to fit up dry. You can then go round with the sikaflexand a wet finger to get a tidy finish.

My windscreen has been in for 16 yrs. with ordinary silicone bath sealant and is as good as the day it was put in. Mask the glass and surround before applying the sealant and you will get a neat finish.
