I have a spare 2.0L Pinto engine that came with my Marlin - as it had been sitting 6 years I thought it was time to clean it up and find it a new home. I stripped it all down, cleaned and rebuilt with new seals ad gaskets and essential its a sound engine. But does need some work to make it useable see below:
Good aspects:
Head and std valves (not hardened for unleaded)
Cam shaft
Crank and bearings
Bores and near new pistons (but see negative below)
Good oil pump
Good bloc
Negative aspects:
Bore and pistons have too tight a tolerance (2 thou) will need rebore to correct
No oil pick up pipe
No sump pan
No ancillaries (eg water pump, distributor, fuel pump, cam sprocket)
Head loose with just 2 head studs to keep in place
Have lot more pics if any interest - Marlin original builder swapped it out of Marlin due to tight tolerance - believe originally out of 1983 Sierrra
Plan to put on ebay when lockdown over with hope to get about £300+ But want to offer to Marlin club members first at mates rates - will take reasonable offer even if under hoped for price
Cant work out why pic so small you maybe able to click on it to open in a tab
