Just acquired an unused pair of Kangol inertia reel seat belts to replace those on my Cabrio but no instructions were with them. No problem with the fitting but the inertia reel unit seems to be locked, i.e. the belt won't move in or out whatever the orientation. Anybody got any ideas or fitting instructions?

Thanks Scott,
After a lot of gentle persuasion that worked. When I got the belts both reels had exactly the same length of belt protruding so I assumed it was some kind of factory lock that needed releasing after the belts were fitted. Now I realise it was probably because they had been in the same position for a long time and were a bit stuck.Comment

Recall having the same issue when I fitted new seatbelts to mine a few years ago, unable to remember what I did must have been the same as you did.Comment
