Yes, I hadn't realised that before I owned one, but luckily I didn't want a Q in the first place so (as of last year) have a Tax and MOT exempt 'T' suffix. Saves £265 per annum on road tax.

Very nice example , especially if the overdrive works. The seats look very comfortable.
Does anyone know what car they originate from?

Re: Marlin on Gumtree
So tell me, is the 40 years for tax exemption from the date of the car being completed and first registered, or from the date of the engine?Originally posted by HairyDave View PostJust a tad methinks but it is nice and well built. Shame about the Q. Never tax free!
This roadster is a '93 chassis so it would still have at least 13 years to go unless its from the MG engine, which would be older.
I have an 89 engine in mine; the chassis is a mid nineties, and it was completed and registered in 2008
So in 2029....or 2035....or 2048......I should be tax free?.....Hmm , I'll be...how old??!!!!
