The matrix

Hi peeps
I have a cabrio with 2.8 v6 cologne engine and the rest is ford Sierra based.
I need to change my heater matrix can anyone guide me on this as i can only see the way to get it out is to remove the pedals is this the only way

That's how I've done it in the past - otherwise it's a dash out job. Once pedals are out of way it's a cinch but do give yourself plenty of room and take out seat and steering wheel.

I removed centre console and dashboard after which you can remove the whole heater unit. Not tried getting just the matrix out. Doug

I remember when I built FMB the heater was the first thing that went in!! I remember thinking I bet that is a swine to get out.

I have been told it can be done by removing the steering colum and open a bleed nipple on the brakes yo allow the brake peddle to be press down to the floor also press clutch pedal down and the matrix will just about come out.
