    Steering shake

Message originally posted by: Derek (tech Rep)Cabrio
FMB has a steering wheel shudder at around 70mph.
It is not constant but rises and falls.
I have balanced the front wheels, put on a new rack and trackrod ends and as far as i can tell the front wheel bearings are ok. The tyres and wheel sseem to run true anfd the toe in is Ok
    Anyone any ideas

Have a good read of this months pitstop artical - NRX suspension tweaks. Also I have found that increasing the damper settings helps, as does increasing tyre pressures to 24psi all round.

      Derek,
You may recall I had the very same problem as yourself, vibration disappeared when I replaced front tyres[Uniroyal Rally 550], the previous ones were Champiro! or some such crap that came with the vehicle.Previous attempt with balancing/tracking failed.
Can recommend the outcome of checking camber as described in Pitstop and mentioned by Peter.Mine had 1 1/2 degees negative on n/s, 0 degrees on o/s. Adjusted with shims as described, now have lighter smoother steering! Oh and I run tyres at 24psi also.
