Has anyone invented a good design for holding both bonnet halves up at the same time ?

Re: holding the bonnet halves up
Not brilliant images as they're snipped from a video I took at Stoneleigh some years ago but they may help. Also, if the owner of the car reads the forum he/ she may be able to provide better detail.

Re: holding the bonnet halves up
Mine came with little gas struts, unfortunately with both of them up, one or other does tend to fall down, perhaps stronger struts would work better.
If I am working under the bonnet, I loop an old fanbelt over the studs.

Re: holding the bonnet halves up
My gas struts have definitely gone weak, I shall order some new ones when I have a little spare cash.

Re: holding the bonnet halves up
The struts on my bonnet had zero gas in them and a previous owner had used a piece of plastic pipe cut lengthways to act as a wedge.
I swapped them out for these off eBay last year.
So far they have been great. 50N is plenty strong enough unless you're out in a very high wind.

i couldn't possibly see a picture of where / how they are installed could i ?
i think they look far more professional than pieces of rod.

(I'm not sure why, but the photo seems to have attached twice, even when I deleted the original and re-attached).

Oh thanks , that’s unusual, the struts for my estate back door were just struts, thanks again.
