The clutch cable on my Cabrio has started to creak a bit, and although it's not urgent I would like to be able to renew it. On investigation, there is very little slack and so I can't see a way of releasing it from either end. I tried holding the pedal down and wedging the release lever with a piece of wood between it and the hole in the bell housing, but when I lifted the pedal the auto-adjust gadget auto-adjusted and kept the cable tight. Does anyone have any advice please?
