            This information may be a little late, or hopefully you are aware. The tubes that form the bumper brackets were a smaller dia on early cars. However If they are larger on the tow bracket Than the brackets perhaps you could fit sleeves. Hopefully both cars are similar. Sorry I did not pick up on this thread sooner.

                Hi - Cabrio towbars come in 2 shapes, the later ones were modified to clear the opening boot. If you have no boot, either will be ok. I found mine would chatter on the struts when towing, which was a little disconcerting. I cured it with a simple strip of steel bent at one end to fix on the towball bolt, and anchored at the other end on the diff mounting bolt. Have fun! Dave
