Swich for a transit arrived today, looke the same, fits the slots, need to retrieve my multimeter tomorrow to check, there are 2 extra wires on the new piece, but may be able to use one or other thro a fused lead for the radio! Cost of switch £14

Ok , switch basically the same connector layout on rear, just a connector missing which was not used, live state when no key inserted.
The other 2 connectors are a simple switch which operates when the ignition key is fully turned to start the engine, I suspect this auxilliary switch is for glow plugs on a diesel the switch being for a transit
I'll keep it on the shelf for the present as the refurbed job is working well!
