I am thinking of fitting Avo coil overs to my Roadster. Has anyone ever disconnected or removed the torsion bar as it may be to stiff with the coil overs?

Re: Torsion bar
Did you ever decide which of the two sizes of torsion bar you have fitted? The larger diameter ones will be too stiff for a roadster. Equally tyre pressures and sidewall profile have a lot to do with handling issues.
Torsion bars have been removed completely and replaced with coil overs, a quick search of the forum will find some pictures.
Personally I think it is a bit of a gamble, not so much from the mechanical point of view, but the selection of the spring. It's position is far from vertical making any calculations a best estimate, and you may end up worse off than you already are.MOC member since 05/97
