  • Classic headlamp switch

    Here we go again.

Would like to use this classic pull pull headlamp switch.

    20160611_152722.jpg

Unfortunately they do not have a wiring diagram.

Given to me by a deceased friend.

They have a stamp on them which is JK107.

When I look them up they on Google they are still available but only from China.

    Ebay item number 191867814807

Any ideas as to what terminal does what?

I only have a supply (brown), side light (red) and a dip switch (blue) cables available and obviously an earth.

Flasher is via a multi function stalk.

You need to check the rating of this switch. If it's only 5a, that's just one headlamp, not a pair. Lucas smoke will be released unles you fit a couple of relays.

Ebay description from the part number you supplied, or fuse! Another dilemma. Is there a marking on the switch body? Being Chinese I doubt it is really what it claims. Relays are always a good solution to the potential of fire!

Smoke testing is not the preferred method, but if you use it, please take a video, share it with us, and buy some Lucas smoke to top the wiring up afterward. I have never seen that last process carried out, I am curious to see if it works.

This is also a general comment to those who rely on the standard Marina stalks. They have tiny contact points, and are a b*****d to repair, putting less current through them, has to be a long term solution.
