    De Lorien Marlin

OK, it took some 240 grit paper, pre-paint and WD40 to get the brushed look.

Three coats of clear lacquer and that's a finish I could live with.

Decision made, I will do all the aluminium myself.

    Finished item on right.

Used a Scotchbrite pad and, in my opinion, is even better.

The centre one has the reflections of the trees.

Maybe one of the robotic mowers so that the human can get on wiyh more fulfilling tasks. Will lacquer bond to ally without etch primer? If I don't use etch primer on the Landrover the paint will flake off.

Wonder what finish a fine grit flap sanding wheel on a drill would give with light use.

It appears to, I am going to leave the test pieces outside to see what happens.

              I'll let you know.

Might work, I'll give it a try and let you know the outcome.

I thought everything fell off Land Rovers!

Bits only fall off because they rattle. If the bolts are tight they don't. It is difficult to bolt paint on, you need big washers!
