Stronger/more durable metro ball joints for E30 based Sportster?

Has anyone found a source of ball joints that are not made of cheese? I've been through quite a lot of them, and again this year the MOT tester has noticed one of them starting to go, not enough for a warning yet but I'm going to change it anyway.

If its E30 based are the suspension/steering components not from the donor car?

Not much E30 left on the Sportster's front suspension, only the bottom of the shock mount/spindle/hub/brakes. Even the steering rack is not BMW, I believe it's a ford part. The shock mount is cut and a thread welded in - the thread fits a metro balljoint which connects to the upper wishbone. The lower wish bone also mounts a metro ball joint. A lot of the E30 Sportster is based on the ford version which some tweaks.
