Re: Escort fuel gauge
Sorry for so many questions, are you saying that a classic mini fuel sender, when connected to the escort fuel tank sender, reads correctly on the Marina fuel gauge?

Re: Escort fuel gauge
Are you saying that you take the arm unit off the mini sender and weld/solder it onto the original escort sender without the need to cut and shut the pipework

Re: Escort fuel gauge
That's what I did a few years ago...there is a write-up in Pitstop somewhere (2016ish)
Hybrid Sender (2016_04_26 17_05_56 UTC).jpg
NB - this is a later Sierra unit with a return pipe. Smiths Classic sender unit carefully removed & soldered onto the Ford pickup.Marlin Roadster, LWB...1860 B Series + Ford Type 9
Renault Espace 54mm front calipers, vented discs, cycle wings and adjustable tie-bars.

Re: Escort fuel gauge
First step - using the good old Dremel and a 1/32 cutting disk, managed to remove the float and send unit.
Checked, still watertight, phew.
Got onto Fast Marina and they said that to find a new/used unit is very hard nowadays, so suggested I get a Range Rover one and do a bit of cut and shut.
Now waiting for delivery of said item.
Will update as I go along.

Re: Escort fuel gauge
Cut and shut achieved, now waiting for some JD Weld to finish it off.
Luckily the Smiths pipe fits snuggly into the Ford pipe.
Have checked and the fuel gauge reads accurately.
