It's under load I. E. it's on the ground, is that not right?

          Good spot dbaz.
I think you may be 1 spline out on the torsion bar setting Adrian.
Lower arms should be angled down, the upper will be slightly upwards. Build manual has the dimensions to aim for when setting the lower arms.
Once you get them rough set you can fine-tune using the reaction arm adjuster bolts.
A good reference is that with the car at rest on its wheels (and at normal weights - i.e. engine/box installed) the steering tie rods should (ideally) be parallel to the ground (or very close to).
Also check fore/aft e.g. spirit level on the tunnel.

            All

Thanks for spotting this, it's all obvious now.

I was foolishly hoping that this was ,at least, the only thing that the previous builder had done correctly.

            Obviously not the case.

Ho hum, will now take the whole suspension apart and set it up as per instructions.

A big thank you to all who have contributed to this thread and will post a picture once I have sorted.

Thank god for the Web site and those that contribute to it.

              Now, which instructions to use?

              The originals, below

              And the updated ones

              Along with the picture below

              I'm leaning towards the latter.

                Re: Mk2 wing stays

I would set the ride height a little high as the upright tends to make dents in the inner wings...

Yep that happened with my old roadster.

Even had a quick offer up and the inner wing fits.

Now just the nearside to do.

                    Cheer guys.

You can fine tune the suspension by adjusting the inner torsion bar lever - far too many Marlins are set too high when you look at the pictures !!
