    On a slightly different tack. When I took the carpet out I found that the floor board fouls the front leaf spring eye bolt. The last time I was there 25 years ago I hacked at the floor board a bit to get the nut off. Has anyone got a better solution??

        I pulled the Ubolts and saddles from the read suspension last night...

        This is how the Marina Ubolts compare to the Escort ones...

        They are a very close match. Now I need to make a final decision on how to add the anti-tramp bars

          Andy, from experience (!) it's worth a careful crack check around the holes on the top and bottom plates, and the shocker
          attachment plates as well, though yours all appear to have lasted very well

            Hi Andy. As a separate issue it is good practice to fit a washer on the handbrake clevis pin before fitting the split pin. A liberal smear of copaslip grease during assembly is a good idea too. Peter.

              Yes, I was surprised how good they seem to be. They will all get a good clean up and repaint. I'm considering adding a reinforcing plate to the top of the shock mount to fit the end of the anti-tramp bar...

                I'm going to bin the saddle pads as they don't fit and it's recommended not to use them on performance cars as it improves the axle location.
